Rebecca Eaddy is a versatile and expressive soprano whose performances have graced opera stages, concert halls, and sacred spaces across the country and abroad. Known for her luminous tone and compelling musicality, she brings both technical finesse and heartfelt interpretation to every performance.
Rebecca’s operatic credits include featured roles with Arbor Opera Theater, Opera MODO, and Toledo Opera, among others. Notable portrayals include Pamina (The Magic Flute), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), and Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea). A skilled interpreter of American and contemporary repertoire, she recently originated the role of Adisa Some in The Last Gatekeeper with the Obsidian Theatre Festival.
Equally at home on the concert stage, Rebecca has appeared as a soloist in masterworks such as Handel’s Messiah, Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ, Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo, and Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem. Her artistry has been featured by organizations including the Brazeal Dennard Chorale, Detroit Opera’s Community Touring Ensemble, and the American Spiritual Ensemble. Rebecca most recently performed with the Toledo Choral Society as soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem.
A passionate advocate for the power of music to connect and uplift, Rebecca is also a dedicated educator and administrator in the arts and nonprofit sectors. She currently serves as Principal Chorus Conductor for the Detroit Opera Youth Chorus and continues to mentor and support emerging voices.
Rebecca holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Bowling Green State University. As a past 1st Place National Winner of the National Association of Negro Musicians Vocal Competition, Rebecca has recently joined the board as the Youth/ Junior Division Chair. In addition, she also serves on the board of the Pierians Inc. Detroit Chapter as the Corresponding Secretary and the Michigan Music Education Association as the Choral Activities Coordinator and is now the Director of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church’s Cathedral Choir.
